This is the small island where the luxurious resort where Stéphane used to work and ... live. Other pictures taken from the hotel website are available there (have a look, they are a really compelling invitation to visit the hotel and its island).

All pictures are available either in tar or zip formats. Also available is a tar archive of the original pictures, before being reworked (these are actually the same). Note that the tarballs contain all the pictures I took, not just the ones I present on this page.

Around the Island

This is the beach where we went for a swim. The water was warm on the surface, but gets quite cool very rapidly as you dive.
About 50 to 100 meters away from the shore, there is a small coral potato with a depth of around 6 or 7 meters (IIRC). This was our first contact to the unbelievable marine fauna of New Caledonia. Here, everything is more more abundant, more diverse, and bigger. Have been spotted either during dives or even from the shore: all sorts of rays, dolphins, sharks, turtles, etc. During our swim, I managed to see news kinds of butterfly fish, angel fish, as well as small rays. During our second stay, we also so a different kind of rays from the deck in front of our bungalow... Sea lover paradise.

Kite Surf Paradise

The guy you see in that picture is really good, at least for a total ignorant like me. He managed to jump over the boat (difficult to see, in the lower left corner) several times!
