My Zaozam Grow Op
Feb 2008

Zaozam (aka rau ram, or vietnamese cilantro) is so easy to propagate, using stem cuttings...

I started by putting the stems in an agar-agar gel, waiting for the roots to appear. In practice, using an agar-agar gel is not necessary - it's just as effective to put the cuttings directly in soil...

This page shows the second phase of the grow-op, after the cuttings were removed from the agar agar gel and planted into soil...

Some photos...

One of the most succesful root system of the batch, roughly two weeks after making the cutting.

After a couple of weeks, all the cuttings have grown enough roots, and were transfered to my mini green house...

The yellow leave is one of the original leaves we cut when we made the cutting...

About 4 weeks after cutting...

About a month after cutting...
